The logo:
This too displays just some of the diversity of art that Anne creates. From photography, to paintings, to textiles, to jewelry, to pyrography (something they are just learning), to digital design. The paw print is actually the paw print of their oldest fur baby, Galaxy.
The babies:
Galaxy Alexandra is the not only biologically the oldest, but has been part of the Burg clan the longest - since she was 8 weeks old, and she was born in 2012! She chose Anne as her momma from the moment they met, and was rescued from a puppy mill, along with 200 other puppies. Galaxy gets her middle name from one of Anne's oldest best friends, whom is no longer with us. But Galaxy wasn't the only one rescued - this little fluff nugget definitely rescued Pyro, too!
Bonnie Malificent is the newest addition to the Burg clan, but is the middle child, born in 2016. She was rescued by the mom of one of Anne's best friends when she was two years old. However, Carol is also no longer with us, so Anne took in Bonnie, who has taken to Anne like a fish takes to water. She loves to explore the wilderness just outside and has fun with the community of indoor/outdoor cats in the neighborhood. She doesn't always get along with her older sister but, after all, they are a cat and a dog. lol
Atash Rocket is the baby of the Burg clan, but came to join the family just a few months before Bonnie. The artist and fur/scaly babies live in a semi-rural area, near a small swamp and although it is possible they came from there, there are also quite a few birds of prey that regularly fly over the house on a daily basis that could have dropped them. They were found a step outside of the backdoor, on the covered patio. Having had years of experience working in animal husbandry, in Florida, Pyro felt confident that they could take in Atash and help them thrive, as they were a hatchling, and the chances of finding the nest were low, not to mention had a level of danger. If you know Pyro, you know they are accident-prone. Taking Atash in was the smarter and safer choice all around.
These three are Anne's children and are just the beginnings of the zoo that Pyro always hoped for as a child and they are their world. Here is the 2024 family holiday card Pyro put together!
The artist:
Anne, better known as Pyro to most of their friends, is a disabled, neurodivergent, non-binary, ball of chaos! That’s how this business got its name - their friends started to call them ‘chaos in human form’ and it stuck! Pyro was classically trained in all forms of the visual and performing arts magnet school at Parkway Middle School and Dillard High School/Center of the Performing Arts. They completed their first Bachelor of Art Degree in Art History at the University of South Florida (USF) before life took some crazy turns. They returned to school getting their Master of Public Health Degree from Rollins College, a Graduate Certificate in Heat & Human Health from the Yale University School of Public Health, and then finally a second Bachelor of Art Degree in Anthropology from USF again. Despite all of the coursework, across many fields of study, Anne has always turned to art and come back to art anytime there has been a plot twist in their life. It was the first career they ever wanted to have (which they even found proof of in some papers from Elementary School!) and it is what many people have always connected them with - being a free spirit, being creative, and seeing the world differently.
More Information:
This is a huge part of CiHFA - sharing the world, with the world. Pyro has always loved to learn, especially from others, and has always wanted to make the world a better place. By being a full-time artist, that is exactly the goal. Giving back to others just makes sense to Anne. They have had a very adventurous life, and not all of it has been sunshine and flowers. Because of adversity at a young age, they realized that their purpose in life was to make the world a better, more beautiful place. They have always volunteered with a variety of organizations that are dedicated to making the lives of others better; be it through education, providing healthcare or resources, childcare, animal care, or bettering the environment - they love being able to make the world a better place.
Therefore, CiHFA is going to regularly have collections of pieces whose proceeds will directly benefit non-profits in topics that are close to Anne’s heart. By proceeds, we mean that any materials costs and $1 for labor will be taken out. Thus far, it means that at least 80% of item sales are to be donated. Items will have the details to which non-profit their proceeds will be donated, along with a brief description of the non-profit and a link to their website, for you to look into further (if you so wish). Below is a list of the non-profits and their websites which have previously or are currently benefitted at CiHFA.
